When it comes to replacing teeth, one of the best options is almost always a dental implant. Dental implants are able to replace any single tooth in the mouth in both form and function. They can also be used to support larger tooth replacement options like permanent bridges and even full arches of teeth. They are surgically placed into the jaw and are eventually integrated into your bone structure.
Implants are used to:• Replace missing teeth• Keep teeth from shifting• Correct issues that have developed due to missing teeth• Prevent TMJ issues• Restore cosmetic appeal of missing or damaged teeth
When missing a number of consecutive teeth, a bridge allows us to fill the gap in both form and function. Missing teeth definitely detract from the beauty of your smile, but the drawbacks to missing teeth don’t end there. When you are missing teeth, you may not be able to eat certain foods, and your bite can change for the worse. A bridge restores your smile and your ability to eat and speak. Depending on structural requirements, wear, and esthetics will influence material choice.
Bridges are used to:• Replace teeth that are missing• Prevent teeth from moving• Correct alignment issues stemming from missing teeth• Prevent TMJ issues• Increase aesthetic appeal
Goliad Dental provides high-quality custom, full and partial dentures. Our doctors are experienced and skilled in making dentures that are aesthetic, well-fitting and comfortable.
We provide a variety of dentures, including complete or partial dentures and immediate dentures following tooth extractions. We provide adjustments to your new denture at no cost or a minimal charge for up to six months after your denture delivery.
Our doctors take the time to create a set of beautiful dentures for our patients. We are passionate about bringing you a better smile with your new dentures. We work closely with our dental lab to make sure that your dentures look and fit they way you want. We also know that cost can be a factor. We provide many options to make your payments affordable.
If your teeth are too broken-down or decayed to repair, they are extracted we provide you with a set of custom-fit temporary dentures. The process normally takes two visits. On your first visit, impressions will be taken that are used by our lab to create your temporary dentures. On your second visit, we will remove your teeth and deliver your immediate dentures.
Your gums will need a few months to fully heal after the extractions. As they heal, your gum and bone change and shrink, and your immediate denture might not fit as well. As needed, the doctor will adjust your denture during this healing period.
After your gums have fully healed, we design and fabricate a new denture that will fit well and last longer than your immediate dentures.
Goliad Dental also provides implant-supported dentures. When dentures are supported by implants they slip less and have greater chewing power compared to dentures by themselves. Many patients choose traditional dentures as a temporary solution while they prepare for implant-supported dentures, since traditional dentures are more affordable.
Traditional full dentures are removable and replace an entire arch of teeth. The upper denture has a false palate to provide structural support and to help keep the denture in place.
Traditional partial dentures are usually made out of an inflexible acrylic material and are secured in place with bio-compatible metal clasps that grip around the adjacent teeth.
At Goliad Dental we offer Valplast® metal-free partials, which are made from a flexible, strong and lightweight nylon. They look more natural than acrylic partial dentures. They come with a one-year guarantee against fracture or breakage. We also offers TCS® metal-free partials. TCS partials are made out of a bio-compatible thermoplastic that adjusts and flexes with the natural contours of your jaw.
Each option has its own unique advantages. Our doctors will work with you to determine which one will best serve your needs.
Goliad Dental can provide you with a new set of quality dentures that are designed to be supported by implants. Dentures supported by implants are held firmly in place, will not move around in your mouth and will provide much greater chewing power compared to traditional dentures. The dentures can be fixed onto implants and are only removable by a dentist, or they can be fitted so they snap onto implants while still being removable by you. Implant-supported dentures are an economical way to replace an entire arch of missing teeth using dental implants.
